JESSE THOMAS WEAVER PRAYER GARDEN
When Jesse Weaver, a member of Fern Creek Baptist Church and Boy Scout Troop 356, presented his vision and plans for his Eagle Scout Project, he stated his intended purpose for the garden as this:
The project would benefit the church members because it would supply a place to go pray and a place to relax. The church would greatly benefit from the peaceful setting of the garden in the woods.
Since 2006 this prayer garden has been a blessing to our church and community. People have come here for solitude. Many people have come here to pray. Homeless have slept here. For Vacation Bible School students, it has been a passage to an adventurous journey. A couple of Girls in Action accepted Christ in this garden.
This prayer garden is open to all who will come. We encourage you to come and pray whenever you would like. The prayer for all of you who come is exactly what is on this marker at the opening of the garden: That you will find peace through God's grace.
We are grateful for the years we were privileged to share with Jesse. We are grateful for his vision of this Prayer Garden. We are grateful for all who helped him accomplish this project. To God be the glory!
The Jesse Thomas Weaver Prayer Garden was dedicated on October 14, 2012.
